Winning Back Stolen Wages for Care Workers

Wage theft runs rampant in the care industry. From short checks to unpaid mileage, care workers across Colorado fall victim to greedy care agencies every day.

Fortunately, through the power of worker organizing, we have recourse through the State of Colorado to fight back and win lost and stolen wages for care workers. At CCWU and SEIU Local 105, we’re ALWAYS fighting for workers, and assisting care workers who have had their wages stolen by bad employers.

Duffi, a home care worker from Pueblo, recently recovered stolen wages from her employer using this process. She had this to say:

“Home healthcare is about compassion and dedication, but it should never come at the cost of wage theft. For too long, I wasn’t being paid correctly for the shifts I worked. I was able to win back thousands of dollars that were owed to me and I can finally breathe easier. By taking on this case, I wasn’t just standing up for myself, but I was standing up for all home care workers who face wage theft. Winning my case proves that home care workers will not be silenced and it shows that we are not alone!”
